Platform Engineer

The Role

At Config, we’re on a bold mission: to dramatically reduce the time and cost of developing bimanual robotic systems and accelerate their real-world adoption for custom, high-value tasks. The biggest bottleneck? Gathering high-quality training data—quickly, affordably, and at scale.

We are looking for a Platform Engineer to lead our DevOps and infrastructure efforts. In this role, you will be the bridge between the digital and physical worlds. Your mission is to transform complex physical world problems into seamless software problems. You will build the foundation that allows our team to iterate in a reliable, reproducible, and fast manner.

We are looking for a Platform Engineer to lead our DevOps and infrastructure efforts. In this role, you will be the bridge between the digital and physical worlds. Your mission is to transform complex physical world problems into seamless software problems. You will build the foundation that allows our team to iterate in a reliable, reproducible, and fast manner.

Areas You May Contribute To

Architect Cloud Infrastructure: Take full ownership of our software infrastructure on AWS, using Terraform (IaC) to ensure everything is versioned, reproducible, and scalable.
Orchestrate at Scale: Manage and optimize our Kubernetes (EKS) clusters, supporting both backend services and massive distributed training workloads on GPU-heavy nodes (e.g., p5en/H200).
Bridge Software and Hardware: Build the platform layer that allows backend systems to interact with physical events, robots, and edge devices, ensuring data flows seamlessly from the field to the cloud.
Automate Everything: Design and implement automated CI/CD workflows to accelerate our development cycles and reduce manual intervention.
Scale Data Pipelines: Solve high-throughput challenges, such as scaling data ingestion for foundation model training.
Secure the Frontier: Lead SecOps initiatives to ensure our security posture evolves alongside our rapid company growth.

What We’re Looking For

Infrastructure Expertise: Proven experience managing production environments on AWS and Kubernetes (EKS).
IaC Proficiency: Strong command of Terraform or similar Infrastructure-as-Code tools to maintain a "source of truth" for all infrastructure.
Problem Solver for Scale: Ability to diagnose and solve bottlenecks in data throughput, database performance (DynamoDB vs. Relational/ETL), and high-bandwidth networking.
Systems Thinker: A passion for making "physical world problems" programmable. You should be comfortable thinking about how to manage thousands of edge devices (Linux desktops) across global locations like Hanoi and Seoul.
Automation Mindset: Deep experience in workflow automation and building robust CI/CD pipelines.

IoT & Edge Management: Experience with AWS IoT Core and modern VPN services (e.g. Tailscale) for managing large fleets of remote edge devices.
